Johnston finishes 37th; Pinckneyville boys have solid finish at cross-country state finals

Senior Garrett Johnson finished 37th in the state and the Pinckneyville boys cross-country team had a solid performance at the Class 1A state finals on Saturday.

The team, coached by Ryan Bruns, finished 19th in Class 1A. Team members are Garrett Johnson, Grant Bateau, Liam Oliver, Grant Jausel, Dustin Bartnicki, Noah Conner and Daniel Garavaglia.

Individual results: Johnson, a senior, finished 37th; Bateau, a senior, came in 89th; Oliver, a junior, finished 109th; Jausel, a senior, finished 168th; Bartnicki, a senior, finished 193rd; Conner, a junior, came in 194th and Garavaglia, a freshman, finished 210th.
