Prep Golf: Harrisburg, Eldorado turn in top scores on links

On Friday, The Harrisburg boys' golf team fell to Vienna and Carmi.

Javier Beal had his best score in a match on the season as the freshman fired a 40.

Other scores for Harrisburg induced a 41 from Camden Schiff, while Andrew Bittle fired a 50 and Gabe Smothers provided a 56.

Hunter Voice shot a 67 and Clay Brigham had a 73 for Harrisburg.

The Harrisburg girls took second in a triangular against Hamilton County and Carmi-White County.

The Foxes' Kylee Vaughn carded a four-under 32 to take medalist honors as Gabby Adams paced the Bulldogs with a 45.

Annabella Robinson wasn't far behind with a 47, while Madeline DeNeal finished with a 48 and Alli Ferrel fired a 50. The 47 for Robinson and 48 for DeNeal were season-best score for the two golfers.

Eldorado splits with WF, Hamilton Co. in triangular

A trio of scores in the 40's helped Eldorado to a spilt with Hamilton County and West Frankfort late last week.

Hamilton County won the event with a 174, while the Eagles shot a 179. West Frankfort took third with a 156.

Noah Smith led EHS with a 40 and Evan Coyle fired a 41. Braden Unthank shot a 44 and Ely Boulds' 54 was the fourth and final score for the Eagles, who improve to 10-8 on the season.

Austin Willis had a 61 for Eldorado and Lucas Rider shot a 62.

The EHS boys and girls' golf team will be at the Black Diamond Conference Championships Wednesday at Franklin County Country Club in West Frankfort, starting at 9 a.m.
