MARION -- The Marion Junior High School baseball team stayed unbeaten with a 15-0 four-inning win over West Frankfort on Tuesday at the Crisp Sports Complex.

MJHS is now 18-0 overall with an 11-0 mark in the Big Seven Conference.

Nehemiah Goodman and Evan Noelle combined on a no-hitter. Goodman struck out five and walked four in three innings and Noelle fanned two of the three batters he faced in the fourth.

Mason Gooch had three hits, drove in three runs and scored twice, while Trevor Jackson had two hits, knocked in a run and scored twice. Chase Austin plated a pair and Jack Harre also had an RBI for the Wildcats.

Prior to the win over West Frankfort, Marion posted 20-0 wins over both Carbondale and Mt. Vernon. Trace Bittle was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and five RBI in the win over Mt. Vernon. Devyn Wright hit a three-run double in the win over Carbondale.

Marion plays at Herrin on Thursday, then finishes the regular season with a home game against Du Quoin on Friday.
