Prep Football: Bartok hoping to raise eyebrows at Blue-Gray Combine in Florida

Aside from the sun, sand and surf that comes with Daytona, Florida, Jordan Bartok's trip this weekend will be more business than pleasure.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Harrisburg High School senior will be a part of the Blue-Gray Super Combine, being held at Spec Martin Memorial Field in DeLand Florida Saturday and Sunday.

The combine, which resembles the NFL combine, but for prep athletes, judges players on their 40-yard dash time, vertical jump, broad jump and how many reps they can bench at 185 pounds, as well as, a 1-on-1 passing drill.

This isn't Bartok's first foray into the combine world. He participated in the Missouri Western State University back in April. His stats there are what earned him an invite to Daytona.

Bartok ran a 5-flat, 40-yard dash and a 4.50 shuttle. He had 20 reps at 185 and his broad jump was 8-feet.

Bartok's experience at the combine is one that he hopes pays off dividends come this fall, but he's also hoping to entice some college scouts, who are also present during the combines.

Last season for the Bulldogs, Bartok had 544 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensivley, he made 30 tackles and had two interceptions. He also only played in seven games, missing two due to a hip pointer.

"This is something that I hope I can get several college offers out of," Bartok said. "Preferably at the D-1 level, but at the same time, I'm looking to enhance my skills on the football field as well."
