Despite seven hits on the day, Harrisburg was shut out 7-0 by Herrin at home.<br />McKenzie Sullivan went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Lexi Williams, Essence Sanders, Madeline Rider, Karsyn Davis and Gillian Jones all had one hit.<br />Alli Ferrell took the loss on the mound, going the distance and allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits with one strike out and one walk.<br />Harrisburg 10, Murphysboro 9<br />McKenzie Sullivan got it done on both sides for the Bulldogs Monday at Murphysboro.<br />The senior who signed scholarship papers with Lake Land College, came on in relief in the third inning and went 4-for-5 at the plate in a 10-9 win for Harrisburg.<br />Sullivan (3-0) relieved Alli Ferrell and went five innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits with one strikeout.<br />Ferrell got the start and went two innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits with one walk.<br />At the dish, Sullivan hit three doubles and finished with four RBI, while Abby Dalton and Lexi Williams each went 2-for-4 at the plate. Dalton smacked a home run and finished with two runs driven in, while Williams had one RBI.<br />Hannah Reid and Ferrell both had one hit, while Ferrell finished with an RBI.<br />Galatia-Thompsonville 14, Gallatin County 2<br />The Galatia-Thompsonville softball team hit five home runs in a 14-2 Greater Egyptian Conference win over Gallatin County Monday.<br />Cassi Carter had her first career home run and finished with two on the day and three RBI for the Bearcats, while Dani Reynolds went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI. <br />Brittany Hutchison was a perfect 4-for-4 for G-T, while Katie Ramsey went 1-for-4 with a 3-run home run and Kennedy Harris was 1-for-3 with thee RBI.<br />Galatia-Thompsonville finished with 17 hits on the day as Reynolds picked up the win in the circle. The junior improved to 3-2 as she tossed a four-hitter, striking out three and allowing two earned runs.<br /><br /><br />
