Harrisburg goes 1-1 over weekend

Harrisburg moved to 10-5 on the season after a weekend split at Waltonville over the weekend.<br />The Bulldogs beat Webber Township 12-1 in six innings, but followed that up with a 12-1 loss to Sesser-Valier-Waltonville.<br />In the Webber Township game, Alli Ferrell picked up the win, as she improved to 8-4 on the season. She went the distance, allowing one run on two hits, while striking out six.<br />At the plate, McKenzie Sullivan was 4-for-4 with an RBI, while Abby Dalton was 3-for-3 with an RBI. <br />Lexi Williams, Mya King, Lydia Miller and Gillian Jones and Ferrell all had a hit with an RBI.<br />Harrisburg head coach Red Stafford didn't feature his ace Ferrell in their loss to S-V-W in hopes of a possible postseason matchup. Instead, Lydia Miller took the loss in the circle, allowing 12 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits with four strikeouts and five walks.<br />At the plate, Harrisburg had just two hits on the day as Sullivan (1-2) roped a double and scored on an RBI by Gillian Jones (1-2) in the fourth inning.<br />On Friday, Harrisburg earned a hard-fought 9-8 win over Benton in eight innings.<br />Abby Dalton, who finished 1-for-4, drove in the winning run with two outs, scoring MaKayla Payne, who was courtesy running for Karsyn Davis.<br />Sullivan was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Hannah Reid was 2-for-3. Lexi Williams finished 1-for-3 at the plate.<br />Ferrell picked up the win in the circle, allowing 11 hits and no earned runs, while striking out three.
