Prep Basketball: Harrisburg, Hawks win on hardwood over weekend

Harrisburg snapped a three-game losing streak at the Carmi-White County Invitational Tournament with a 48-47 win over Fairfield Saturday night.

The Bulldogs (8-10) put three players in double figures as Isaiah Saulsberry and Jordan Gould each scored a team-high 14 points and Jordan Bartok tacked on 13 for Harrisburg in the win.

After trailing 12-11 after one quarter and going into the locker room down 24-20, Harrisburg used a big second half, where they outscored Fairfield 28-23, including 16-11 in the fourth quarter to win the game.

Macklin Snyder had a game-high 18 points for the Mules (10-9), while Jayden Lewis scored 13 points.

Noah Ferrell had seven points, the only other points scored for Harrisburg, who shot 16-for-26 from the field and 3-for-16 from 3-point range. The Bulldogs finished 7-for-10 at the free throw line and finished with four turnovers.

On the flip side, Fairfield went 15-for-24 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, while knocking down 8-of-10 free throws. The Mules had 13 turnovers and out rebounded Harrisburg 19-17.

Harrisburg returns to action Friday where they play host to West Frankfort at Davenport Gymnasium.

Seth Ramsey scored a game-high 29 points as Gallatin County picked up a 67-46 GEC road win Friday at Hardin County.

The Hawks put three players in double figures, as Robbie Price popped in 14 points and Audie Goebel added 11 points.

Trevor Duvall finished with five points, while Aaron Walters, Hunter Walkers, Garrett Rushing and Bryon Wargel all finished with two points.
