Prep Hoops: 'Dogs lose third straight at CWCIT

Harrisburg dropped its third straight game, falling to Carmi-White County 63-49 Thursday night at the Carmi-White County Invitational Tournament.

Harrisburg and Carmi were tied at 10 after one quarter of play, but CWC went on a 16-5 run to take a 26-15 lead at halftime.

Harrisburg found its scoring in the third quarter, but still trailed 43-28. Harrisburg outscored Carmi-White County 20-21 in the final eight minutes of play, but could not close the gap.

Isaiah Saulsberry had a team-high 15 points for the Bulldogs, while Jordan Gould also finished in double figures, tacking on 12 points.

Noah Ferrell added eight points for Harrisburg, while Hunter Smith finished with five points. Jordan Bartok, Dylan Morris, Carl Russ and Dalton Lambert all had two points and Carson Burtis tossed in a free throw.

Carmi-White County put four players in double figures as Matt Rice led all scorers with 19 points. Jake Simon added 17 for the Bulldogs, while Justice Stubblefield tacked on 13 points and Travis Black netted 10.

Harrisburg will play its final game at the CWCIT on Saturday, taking on Fairfield at 6 p.m.
