Prep Girls Hoops: Harrisburg knocks off Fairfield; Goreville rallys to beat Eldorado at LEMWC

Takiya Britton had a team-high 18 points for Eldorado in its 52-57 loss to Goreville Wednesday night at the Lady Eagle Mid-Winter Classic at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.

Paige Munds also finished in double figures for Eldorado, scoring 16 points.

Rachel Stafford netted nine points, while Olivia Parker finished with four points. Derian Corn tacked on three points and Madison Newton finished with two.

Lexi King had a game-high 29 points for Goreville.

Eldorado held a 10-9 lead after one quarter of play and outscored Goreville 19-16 in the second quarter to take a 29-25 lead into the locker room.

Grovel battled back in the third, outscoring EHS 13-9 to knot the game at 38-all and finished out the last eight minutes of the game, outscoring the Eagles 19-14 for the five-point win.

Eldorado returns to action at the LEMWC tonight (Thursday) and will play Mt. Carmel at 8 p.m.

<strong>Harrisburg 55, Fairfield 46</strong>

Karsyn Davis was one of two other Harrisburg players to score in double figures as the Bulldogs claimed a 55-46 win over Fairfield Wednesday night at the LEMWC.

Davis finished with a game-high 17 points, while Lotte Miller finished with 14 points and Jessica Hopson tacked on 13 in the win.

Matty Hawkins added eight points for head coach Jake Stewart and company, while Toni Crisp, Madeline Rider and Lydia Miller all had two points.

On Monday night, Harrisburg earned a 50-38 win over Mt. Carmel.

Hopson led the Bulldogs wtih 15 points in the win over the Aces.

Also finishing in double figures for Harrisburg was Lotte Miller (13 points) and Hawkins (10 points).

Brooke Meylor, Davis and Crisp all finished wtih four points in the win.

The Bulldogs return to the LEMWC on Friday when they take on Goreville at 6:30 p.m.
