Girls Prep Hoops: Galatia goes 1-3 at Merry Mule

The Galatia High School girls’ basketball team moved to 3-12 on the season after a 1-3 showing at the Fairfield Merry Mule Christmas Tournament.

The Bearcats’ lone win came against Wayne City 50-43 and took losses to Champaign Central (67-42), Fairfield (46-16) and Woodlawn (50-16).

In Galatia’s win over Wayne City, the Bearcats put three players in double figures as Kennedy Harris netted a team-high 23 points. Mallory Mays finished with 11 points and Madison Murphy tacked on 10.

Kassidy Rizor chipped in with six points in the win.

In the loss to Champaign Central, Harris once again led the Bearcats in scoring, dropping 13 points, while Rizor scored seven. Murphy and Mays each chipped in with six, while Kelsi Watson and Baley Crisp both finished with four points. ReAnna Gallamore had two points in the loss.

In the loss to Fairfield, Rizor was the top scorer, netting seven points, while Harris finished with four points. Gallamore and Murphy both scored two points and Mays tossed in a free throw.

In the loss to Woodlawn, Rizor had nine points, while Murphy tacked on three. Emma Reagan and Harris both had two points.

Galatia returns to action on January 2nd against country rival Eldorado.
