Prep Hoops: Flying High

Another night and another opponent bit the dust.

No matter the competition to start the season, Eldorado has been unfazed as the Eagles are a perfect 7-0 after a 60-48 win over Southern Illinois River-to-River Ohio Division foe West Frankfort at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium Tuesday night.

Eldorado got off on the right foot, jumping out to a 21-5 lead and then hung tough in the second quarter to go up 21-16 at halftime. The Eagles outscored West Frankfort 14-11 in the third quarter and didn't look back in the game's final eight minutes, despite being outscored by the Redbirds 21-15.

The Eagles' big three of Ethan Partridge, Braden Attebury and Jacob Traxler led EHS in scoring as Partridge had a team-high 16 points and six rebounds. Traxler had the lone double-double, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Attebury also scored 10 and pulled down nine rebounds.

John Meredith netted nine points and Max Kasiar added eight points for the Eagles, while Kale Oglesby scored six in the win.

Eldorado returns home Friday when they take on Black Diamond Conference foe Fairfield.
