Prep Hoops: Gallatin County goes down to Herrin

The Gallatin County girls' basketball team got likely their biggest test of the season Tuesday night - and it's only the second game of the year.

The Hawks were taken down 65-37 in a rough game at the Marion Lady Wildcat Invitational at Cuss Wilson Gymnasium.

In the loss, Hailey Chubb had a season-high 21 points, while Caitlin Lynch scored seven points. Audrey Jackson finished with four points, while Harlie Turner and Kaylee McGuire each tacked on two points. Morgan Roderick tossed in a free throw.

Gallatin County returns to action Thursday at the Marion Invitational, taking on Massac County at 7 p.m. and will play Marion on Friday at the same time. The Hawks close out play in Marion on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Vienna.
