Middle School Softball: EMS evens record with win over Pope Co.

Hope Hampton went 3-for-3 at the plate, scoring two runs and knocking in one, as Eldorado Middle School knocked off Pope County 14-4 late last week.

EMS had 13 hits on the day s Lexie Mitchell, Haley Bean and Kylie Oglesby all went 2-for-3. Mitchell and Bean knocked in two and scored one run a piece. Oglesby scored two runs and had an RBI.

Emma Wargel, Cassidy Wells, Cydnee Van Zandt and Alexa Haenel all had one hit. Haenel had an RBI, as did, Lily Gangard and Kadence Gobin. Wells and Van Zandt each scored two runs.

In the circle, Wargel picked up the win, working four innings. She allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits, while striking out 12 and walking just one. Bean got in one inning of relief work, striking out three and walking two, while allowing two runs.

EMS now stands at 1-1 on the season.
