Prep T&F: Four Of A Kind

Seven first place finishes helped the Harrisburg High School boys' track and field team take the top spot in the Ohio Divison of the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Thursday in Du Quoin.

Kane Carrigan and Dustin Lane teamed up for a pair of first place finishes as Carrigan took home the shot put crown with a throw of 51-feet-9 and had the top spot in the discus with a toss of 154-feet-8.

Lane crossed the line at 11.46 in the 100 meter dash for a first place finish and turned the same trick in the 200 meter dash, finishing at 22.94.

Lane was also part of a 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay team that grabbed a first place finish, coming in at 43.38. That squad consisted of Tylor Marler, Cody Rightnowar and Corbin Crim.

The 4x200 relay team turned in a time of 1:34.85 and was comprised of Aaron Stephens, Hunter Smith and Chris Williams.

The 4x200 freshmen relay team of Darnell Boone, Dylan Morris, Kody Cavender and Jimmy Hicks was first with a time of 1:14.11.

There were six second place finishes for Harrisburg as Niko Neal was second in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.47, while Marler finished third at 15.60. Cody Rightnowar took second in the 300 intermediate hurdles, crossing the line at 39.60 for a PR and Marler was right behind at 41.42 for third place.

Jordan Bartok had a second place finish in the discus, finishing behind his teammate Kane Carrigan, with a toss of 135-feet-2.

Crim grabbed a second place finish in the long jump, clearing 19-feet-4 and Marler was third at 19-feet-3.

Kody Cavender was second in the pole vault, clearing 11-feet-6 for a PR, while Kyle Cavender was third at 10-feet-6 and he tied for a PR in the event.

The 4x400 meter relay team took second with a time of 3:37.09 and the 4x800 meter relay team finished at 9:10.83 for a third place finish.

Other finishes in order included: Rightnowar, 200 meters (4th, 23.50 PR); Neal, 400 meters (4th, 53.17 PR); Bartok, shot put (4th, 42-feet-3.5); Crim 100 meters (5th, 12.09); Aiden Blades, 800 meters (5th, 2:08.11); Blades, 3200 metes (5th, 11:06.76); Blades, 1600 meters (6th 5:16.72); Chandler Bowling, 800 meters (6th, 1:10.71 PR).
