Robert H. Scott, 72, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Carrier Mills, passed away on Jan, 26, 2010, at his residence.

Robert was born Jan. 18, 1938, in Huntingdon, Tenn., to the late Lester and Lillian (Britt) Scott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roy Scott and Richard Scott.

Robert worked in the coal industry in Southern Illinois for many years, and after the closing of Sahara Coal Mine, moved on to Texas and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for United Rentals/Udelson Equipment until retiring.

He is survived by his wife Donna Scott, of Houston, Texas; two sons, Larry (Suzie) Scott of Carrier Mills and Robert D. Scott of Carrier Mills; three daughters, Lisa (Brad) Hancock of Stonefort, Teresa (Derick) Miller of Bradley and Katina (Kevin) Collins of Carrier Mills; a stepson, Andy (Amy) Murphy of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Christina Rosaldo of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Aileen Bennett of Huntingdon, Tenn., Adele Rich of McKenzie, Tenn. and Evelyn Druda of Greenville, Texas. He was the proud PaPa Scott to 19 grandchildren, Nick, Briley, Wesley, Amanda and Jeremy Scott, Mandee Weintraub, Kenny, Robert and Chase Scott, Matt Fowler and Erin Fowler, Landon, Logan and Lydia Miller, Trent and Trey Collins and Kerrigan, Hannah, and Andra Murphy; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Dilday-Carter Funeral Home in Huntingdon, Tenn. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. service time Sunday Jan. 31, 2010. Burial will follow immediately at Seller's Cemetery.
