Cecil W. Wright, 76, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Fountain View Nursing Home, Eldorado.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Barry Bascom officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at the funeral home.

He was born March 11, 1934, in Lowry City, Mo., to William Van Wright and Zora Major. On July 7, 2002, he married Betty Milligan Hise.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the water company of St. Louis, Mo., and worked for the Christian school in Carmi for 12 years.

He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Wright of Eldorado; a son-in-law, Irene Wright of Appleton, Mo.; two nieces, Debbie Wright and Kelley Knapp, both of Appleton, Mo.; a stepson-in-law, Barry Dennis of Norris City; stepgrandson, Ben Dennis of Norris City; stepgranddaughter, Teffney Porter and husband Stephen of Newburgh, Ind.; and two great-stepgrandsons, Riley and Kaden Porter of Newburgh, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Wright of Appleton, Mo.
