Larry Wayne Rice, 62, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at his home in Madisonville, Ky., surrounded by his loving and devoted family.

Larry was born June 8, 1948, in Eldorado to Millard and Mary Jean (Neal) Rice. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Nongpanga "Kim" (Sirinum) Rice; two daughters, Jennifer Ann (Rob) Eli of Tucson, Ariz. and Amanda Kay Rice of Madisonville, Ky.; a son, Timothy Smith (Sharon) Rice; two granddaughters, Iva Calderon and Kaia Rice of Loveland, Ohio; parents, Millard Smith and Mary Jean (Neal) Rice of Eldorado; two brothers, Jerry "Tinker" (Oma) Rice of Norris City and Brian Keith (Melissa) of Washington, Pa.

At Larry's request, his body was cremated with no burial services. A visitation for family and friends was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at his residence. Larry Wayne fought a long, courageous battle for 50 years against the ravages of juvenile diabetes, and cancer for the last two years. The battle is now over for Larry Wayne.
