Geraldine E. Pierson, 86, 120 S. Land St., Harrisburg, formerly of Evansville, Ind. and Carrier Mills, died 9:36 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at her residence.

She was born March 9, 1923, in Galatia to Leonard and Anne Mae (Boatright) McDowell. She married Bruce Pierson, who preceded her in death on May 3, 1975.

She was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by a sister, Genevieve Garner of Missouri; three nephews, Jimmy (Lois) Poyner of Castle Rock, Colo., Robert (Ann) Poyner of DeFuniac Springs, Fla. and David (Georgetta) Garner of Harrisburg; four nieces, Gloria (Merle) Morris of Chester Park, Cecelia Midkiff of Harrisburg, Betty Hogg of Marion and Donna Kaye of Missouri; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, J.L. McDowell; and a sister, Lucille Poyner.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time, 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Energy.
