Jalye M. Turner

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Jalye M. Turner, 90, a former resident of Stonefort and Carrier Mills, died at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at the Farmington County Manor, Farmington.

She was born in Williamson County on Feb. 25, 1921, to the late Gus and Lura Deaton Holmes. She married Herbert Turner on Dec. 21, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1981.

She was Baptist by faith.

She is survived by a sister, Minnie Craig of Elmwood; a brother, Kenneth Holmes of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two stepchildren, Jerome Turner and Colleen Tanner; and a sister, Grace Garner.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Alan Summers officiating. Burial will be in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Saturday.
