Bonnie Jewell (Gobin) Patterson, 72, Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Harrisburg Medical Center after a long battle with Huntington's Chorea disease.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1937, to the late George and Teenie (Genola) Gobin. On Oct. 14, 1953, she married Audie Patterson, who survives.

Audie and Bonnie pastored at Ridgway Church of God and Unionville Independent Church. Bonnie ministered the word of God by playing the piano and teaching Sunday School. She was a longtime member of the Land Street Church of God, and during her childhood she was a member of a Christian trio.

Bonnie was also a professional seamstress for many years. She was president of the ladies auxiliary. She was saved at a young age at Harco Baptist Church. She attended Harco Grade School and Galatia High School.

Surviving family members include her husband of 56 years, Audie Patterson; two daughters, Carolyn Voss and Bonnie Melinda "Linda" (Lonnie) Lane; five grandchildren, Prudance (Quincy) Evans, Dallas Lane, Crystal (Chris) Tabor, Natalie Lane (fiance Adrian Throdoropoulos) and Jerrie Voss; five great-grandchildren, Robert Evans, Kendall Evans, Xavier Evans, Zander Evans and Prudance Alyzah Tabor; three sisters, Betty Sharp, Phyllis (Bill) Powell and Vivian (Harold) Caffee; two brothers, Kenneth (Bertha) Gobin and Deon (Carla) Gobin; two sisters-in-law, Grace Patterson and Bobbi Gobin; and a brother-in-law, Omar Stone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Naomi Ruth Minton; father-in-law, Aud Patterson; stepfather-in-law, Daniel Minton; sister, Wilma Faye Stone; brother, Donald Lee Gobin; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Ledbetter and Lucille Patterson; four brothers-in-law, Bernard Patterson, Howard Patterson, Tar Ledbetter and Glen Sharp; and grandson, Chad Wayne Lane.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Land Street Church of God in Harrisburg. The Rev. Harold Miller and the Rev. Harold Caffee will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel, and from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington's Disease Research Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
