Delman Earl Barton

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Delman Earl Barton, 66, of 911 Murray St., Eldorado, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Fountain View Nursing Home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1943, in Eldorado to the late Dewey Lawrence Barton and Helen (Coomes) Barton Newman. Helen survives in Eldorado.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Barton of Eldorado and Joey Barton of Chicago. Also surviving are five brothers, Gary (Donna) Barton of Eldorado, Monte (Bonnie) Newman of Eldorado, Kevin Newman of Eldorado, David (Alisa) Newman of Eldorado and Wesley (Sarah) Newman of Eldorado; and one sister, Becky Casey of Oblong. He was a proud grandfather of Jeff&#39;s daughter, Ashlee Barton. Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews, Robbie Beaver, Kristy (Beaver) (Travis) Boyer, Tammara (Barton) (Dennis) Hasankolli, Jennifer (Barton) (John) Finnie, Kyle (Lexie) Barton, Kelsea Newman, Bailey Newman, Danielle Newman and Brock Newman.

He was a member of the Eldorado American Legion Post No. 169, and he was an Army veteran. He was a barber by trade and made friends easily. He was known for his big stories and tall tales. Delman loved sports and was a lifelong Cubs fan, which led to a lot of verbal abuse from his brother Gary, who is a avid Cardinals fan. Fishing was a favorite pastime, which he enjoyed with his good friend Charlie Seagraves.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Lawrence Barton; his stepfather, Morry Newman; and several aunts and uncles.

As per his request his body has been cremated and there will be no services. There will be a memorial dinner for family and friends at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at the Watson Courtesy Room, next to the Watson Funeral Home.
