Edna Pauline 'Johnnie' Wilkins, formerly of Carrier Mills

Edna Pauline "Johnnie" Wilkins, age 89 and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, formerly of Carrier Mills, passed away peacefully at 9:50 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2020 in Columbia.

She was born on April 14, 1930 in Saline County, daughter of the late Othar Nolen and Ida (Gee) Nolen.

"Johnnie" was married to James H. Wilkins on May 8, 1948 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1994.

She retired from the A.L. Bowen Center in Harrisburg and served as secretary of the AFSCME Union.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills where she attended the former Dorcas Sunday school Class and United Methodist Women, and a member of the Golden Circle in Harrisburg, where she volunteered many hours.

She is survived by a daughter, Susie (Mack) Farmer; granddaughter, Krista Farmer; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe Rose Dial, all of Springhill, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Helen Bernice Nolen, Norma Jean Nolen and Ruth Dunn; and her brother, Donald Nolen.

Private services will be held with burial next to her husband in the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.

The Rev. Todd Krost will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the preferred choice of remembrance would be memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills. Those may be mailed in care of the church at 109 E. Washington St. Box 337 Carrier Mills, IL 62917
