Walter Lee Mohr of Pinckneyville

Walter Lee Mohr, age 77, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9:41 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, in Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Walter Lee was born on Jan. 9, 1943 in Pinckneyville, a son to Walter A. and Leona (Reinhardt) Mohr. On March 10, 1962, he married Suzie Klinger in St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, and she survives.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pinckneyville and belonged to the Methodist Men.

Walter Lee was a lifelong farmer. He also worked for five years at Blue Bell Packing, 26 years at Consol #2 Mine and six years at Nascote Industries.

He was a member of Future Farmers of America, 4-H, U.M.W.A. and belonged to the Rural Youth.

Walter Lee was an avid L.A. Dodgers and Pinckneyville Panther fan. He dearly loved farming and spending time with his family. His greatest joy was being actively involved with his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan!

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Suzie (Klinger) Mohr; four children, Traci Wolf, Sheryl (Chuck) Hessler, Becki (Kevin) Cowley and Brandon (Lori) Mohr; a brother, James (Dorothy) Mohr; and seven grandchildren, Tara Deskin, Chase Deskin, Taylor Deskin, Brayden Cowley, Carsyn Cowley, Riley Mohr and Sydney Mohr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Mohr.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 at the United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, with the Rev. Don Meeks officiating.

Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and again from 8 to 10 a.m. on Friday, both at United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville.

Memorial donations are invited to be made to the United Methodist Church in Pinckneyville or the Methodist Men organization.
