DU QUOIN -- Betty Lee Krone, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and the Crusaders Sunday school Class. She sang in the church choir for many years.

She was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Du Quoin, the daughter of Robert and Marian (Stull) Davis.

Betty married Herman F. Krone on June 9, 1946 in Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2005.

She is survived by two sons, Rick (Connie) Krone of Du Quoin and Mike Krone of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Cyndi (Brian) Gates of Brooksville, Florida and Nancy (Steve) Foreman of Goreville; seven grandchildren, Chris Deering, John McClure, Adrienne Alvis, Melissa Snodgrass, Kelly Krone, Casey Gates and Wesley Gates; and 12 great-grandchildren, Garrison Alvis, Jubal Alvis, Avery Alvis, Jordan McClure, Auna McClure, Victoria Li Gates, Maria Snodgrass, Celine Snodgrass, Ruth Snodgrass, Joseph Snodgrass, James Deering and Vincent Deering.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Beverly Jo Bird; and brother, Charles Davis.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with the Rev. April Turner officiating.

Friends may call prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
