William D. Elam of Harrisburg

William D. Elam Sr., age 78 of Harrisburg, passed away Oct. 14, 2019 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.

William was born Dec. 8, 1940 to William Ralph and Verba Frances (Carter) Elam in Eddyville. He was a member of the Plumbers-Pipefitters Local 551 located in West Frankfort and worked at the Saline County Housing Authority.

William was baptized on July 20, 2015 into the Baptist faith and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

William is survived by three children, Jennifer Elam of Harrisburg, Rebecca (Troy) Parrish of Oak Lawn and William Elam Jr. of Harrisburg; mother of children, Carolyn Elam; seven grandchildren, Brandon Elam, Travis (Kresna) Elam, Jayci Dayle Elam, Kassidy (Freddy) Perez, Kaleb Elam, Konnor Parrish and Dakota Elam; two twin great-granddaughters, Tessa and Bella Perez; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Pastor Ron Reed will conduct the service. Visitation for the public will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at New Liberty Blanchard Cemetery in Eddyville.
