Robert Feigenbaum, formerly of Carbondale

Robert E. Feigenbaum, of Olivette, Missouri, formerly of Carbondale and who worked in Du Quoin, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at age 93.

Robert was born on May 24, 1926 in St. Louis.

Robert graduated Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis at the age of 16 and went on to Washington University, where he received his law degree at 20 years of age and had to wait six months until he was 21 to take and pass the bar exam.

He practiced law for seven years until he went to work for Turco Manufacturing Company in St. Louis.

He later became president of Turco, and in 1960 moved Turco from St. Louis to Du Quoin, and his entire family to Carbondale, where they lived for 37 years. Another subsidiary was Charmglow gas barbecue grills.

Bob was also very active on the business development board at SIU.

His wife, Lois, predeceased him 15 years ago. Their children Sue (Gene Ackley), Robyn (Jim McHale), Keith (Paula Smith), along with Bob's two grandchildren children, Jacqueline Adams and Jeffrey Long, his six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter will all miss him deeply.

Visitation is at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at Berger Memorial Chapel, 9430 Olive Boulevard, Olivette, Missouri, 63132.

The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment following the funeral service will be held at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 8430 Gravois, Affton, Missouri, 63123.
