Brandon S. Schwier of Chester

Brandon S. Schwier, 18, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 in Campbell Hill, Illinois.

He was born to Donald R. and Lois E. (nee Altman) Schwier on April 16, 2001 in Sparta, Illinois.

Brandon was a student at Chester High School and also worked for the Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation.

He was a Boy Scout and a member of the FFA and National Honor Society. Brandon played baseball, basketball, soccer, track and was MVP in cross country. He enjoyed fishing and going to the ocean.

His plans after high school were to enlist in the United States Air Force. Brandon was also a blood donor for the American Red Cross.

Survivors include his parents, Donny Schwier of Chester and Lois Schwier (Greg Griffith) of Chester; three siblings, Amanda Cross of Chester, Aaron Schwier of Port Heron, Michigan and Brandon's twin brother, Chris Schwier of Chester; maternal grandparents Paul and Grace Bevins of Dexter, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Mike Schwier of Ava, Illinois, Tom Davidson of Springfield, Greg (Kristi) Altman of Dexter, Missouri and Vicki (Mike) Roark of Yucca Valley, California; four nieces, Bailey Cross, Annabell Cross, Eriana Quintana and Evelyn Schwier; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mary and Charles Schwier and a cousin, Jennifer Woolworth.

Visitation for Brandon S. Schwier will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24 at the American Legion, 500 Opdyke St., in Chester. A Celebration of Life will begin at 7 p.m., with Dr. Mike Fogerson officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the Fishing Team at Chester High School.
