Floyd Gale Garner of Du Quoin

Floyd Gale Garner, 66, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:25 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 at his residence.

Floyd had been a painter. He also was a United States Army veteran.

He was born March 19, 1952 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the son of Floyd L. and Daisy Mae (Stowers) Garner.

He married Wendy E. Gottesman and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin and four siblings, Tyrone Scarber of North Dakota, Benny Garner of Vergennes, Jackie Davidson of Tamaroa and Tamra Dolin of Dupo, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Delphia Dodson and two brothers, Billy Garner and Michael McCormick.

Military graveside services will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at the Greenwood Cemetery at Mulkeytown, Illinois with the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard conducting the service.

Those attending the service are asked to go to directly to the cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Du Quoin V.F.W. Post 513.
