Carol S. Patton of Leamington

Carol S. Patton, age 77, longtime Leamington community resident, passed from this life, Aug. 5, 2018 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

Carol was born Feb. 4, 1941, in Eldorado to the late Eugene and Mildred (Wilson) Endicott. On June 28, 1958 she married the love of her life, the Rev. Robert Patton, who survives.

A woman of deep faith, Carol wove her love for Jesus into every aspect of her life. Whether it was through homemaking, her work at Mad Pricer, mothering her family, or helping her husband on the farm, Carol found a way to shine the light of Jesus within her

Carol was an avid camper who loved to fish. Anyone with patience and a pole was welcome to join her by the banks of her pond to enjoy both creation and her Creator. If she wasn't found crafting, camping, fishing or shopping at Walmart, she was playing hymns on her piano: all favorite pasttimes of Carol's.

She was a member of the Pisgah General Baptist Church where she was very active, especially in Bible school.

Carol's contagiously fun spirit made her much beloved, not only by her immediate family, but also among her many nieces and nephews. Her laughter, wit, and seemingly boundless love will be greatly missed.

Carol is survived by her husband, the Rev. Robert Patton; two daughters, Robin (Lynn) Loverkamp of Metropolis and Kimerly (Steven) Holding of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Tabitha (John Mark) DeVous, Trisha (Joshua) Stacey, Logan Loverkamp, Sydney (Colton) Logeman, Krystal (Michael) Sells, and Jakob Holding; and four great-grandchildren, Blake and Abby Stacey, Noah DeVous and Zane Able.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Miona McGuire, Violet June Patton and Darrell Sonny Endicott.

Visitation for Carol will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Hunt officiating. Interment will take place in the Leavell Hill Cemetery.
