Leveda L. Pyle of New Haven

Leveda L. Pyle, age 82, and a lifelong New Haven resident, passed on this life, June 14, 2018 after an extended illness.

Leveda was born in New Haven on Aug. 12, 1935 to the late Clyde and Willamine (Browning) Lawrence. On Oct. 29, 1955 she married the love of her life, the late Donald "Meathead" Pyle.

She was a graduate of Ridgway High School and for over 38 years continued in the school system as a custodian and bus driver. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening and deer hunting. She was very proud of her home and yard as it always looked perfect. Leveda was a hard worker all of her life. She was a Christian woman who loved God and was a member of the Calvary Promise church in Shawneetown. She always had a smile for you and will be missed by many.

Leveda is survived by her son Ronald "Chris" (Robin) Pyle of New Haven; a granddaughter, Kristi (J.D.) Denny of McCutchanville, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Max and Eli Huff; and a sister, Ilene Downs of Godfrey.

Leveda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kevin, grandson Chase Harkins, and a sister, Laura Norris.

Visitation for Leveda was Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Her funeral was at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating. Her burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
