Norman Lee Mudd of Chester

Norman Lee Mudd, 64, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home.

He was born to Melvin and Shirley (nee Labruyere) Mudd on July 1, 1953 in Red Bud.

He was a corrections officer at the Randolph County Jail and was of the Catholic faith.

Norman was a member of Eagles Aerie #3252 and the Chester Boat Club.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Smith, of Ruma, Illinois; children Jolene (TAC) Carroll of New Athens, Illinois and Trampus Mudd of Chester; seven siblings, Sandy (Kenny) Hooten of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Floyd (Mary) Mudd of Modoc, Illinois, Brenda (Jim) Thomas of Stockbridge, Georgia, Keith (Melody) Mudd of Modoc, Brian Mudd of Ruma, Nadine (Tony) Slate of Stockbridge and Eric (Tracy) Mudd of Stockbridge; and five grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Mudd.

The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester, with the Rev. Cecil Dunning officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, and go until the time of service.

Memorials may be directed to the family. It was Norman's wish to be cremated.
