Evangeline 'Angie' E. Welge, formerly of Chester

Evangeline "Angie" E. Welge, 85, of Perryville, Missouri, formerly of Chester, Illinois, received her eternal reward at 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Independence Care Center in Perryville, Missouri.

She was born to William Frank Carl and Emma Helen Louise (nee Boettcher) Bahr on May 17, 1933 in Ord, Nebraska.

She married Wolter H. Welge on June 23, 1957 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2011.

Angie was employed by Buena Vista National Bank for over 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed family time. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband, Wolter, after she retired.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.

Angie is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Tom) Kertz of Perryville, Missouri and Lori (Ivan) Bost, of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Virginia Bahr of Red Bud and Arlene Leenerts and Grace Schneider, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Albert Bahr of Maryland Heights, Missouri and William Bahr of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Casey (Matt) Petzoldt of Cape Girardeau, Cody Kertz of Fruitland, Missouri and Britney Bost of Memphis; two great-grandchildren, Aria Petzoldt and Ian Petzoldt; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wolter H. Welge; three brothers, Luther Bahr, Calvin Bahr and Virgil Bahr; and one sister, Vivian Bahr.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, in Chester, with the Rev. Justin Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Chester.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service at St. John Lutheran.

The family asks that memorials in Angie's name go to St. John Lutheran Church and Southeast Hospice.
