Garry G. Woolsey of Du Quoin

Garry G. Woolsey, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:10 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Garry had been a deputy sheriff and an animal control officer for Perry County. He was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church. Garry was a United States Air Force veteran. He loved to fish and garden.

He was born April 13, 1939 in Du Quoin, the son of Barney and Beulah (Wright) Woolsey.

He is survived by two sisters, Margie Provart of Du Quoin and Donna Adams of Carterville; two brothers, James Woolsey and Jerry Woolsey, both of Du Quoin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings, Eileen Todd, Barney Woolsey, Thelma Terry, Jenita Perry, Clifford Woolsey, Levada Woolsey, Harry Woolsey and Dennis Woolsey.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Clark officiating.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W., American Legion and the United States Air Force.

Friends may make memorials to the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
