Frank P. Skaggs III, formerly of Ridgway

Frank P. Skaggs III, age 87 of Franklin, Tenn. but longtime Ridgway resident, passed on this life on April 2, 2018 in Franklin.

Frank was born in Harrisburg on March 15, 1931 to the late Frank Jr. and Florene (Brock) Skaggs. On Jan. 11, 1959 he married Sandra (Butler) Skaggs, who survives.

Frank graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and worked most of his life in Ridgway, owning and operating Skaggs Ridgway Drugs.

Frank was very active in Ridgway all of his life, from civic organizations like the Lions Club to helping on Popcorn Day.

He loved to fish and play golf. He is the last member of the Wednesday Poker Club, consisting of businessmen in Ridgway.

Frank was a lifelong Cubs fan and was so happy he got to see them win a World Series. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway.

Frank was always kind and helped others, a good husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by many.

Frank is survived his wife of 59 years, Sandra of Franklin, Tenn.; a son, Frank (Pam) Skaggs IV of Franklin, Tenn.; a daughter, Rebecca (Edward) Drone of Edwardsburg, Mich.; a brother, Dr. William (Charlotte) Skaggs of Venice, Fla.; six grandchildren, Frank, Lynnetta, Dustin, Crystie, Meagan and Joshua; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Frank will be held on from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway.

His funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway. Fr. Steven Beatty will celebrate mass. Frank will be laid to rest in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
