Cheryl Darlene Holder, formerly of Carbondale

Cheryl Darlene Holder, 65, of Chester passed away at 5:05 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Cheryl was born March 21, 1952, in Carbondale to Marion Lee and Iva Lorene (Hill) Lewis. She married James Delvin Holder June 30, 1972, in Carbondale, and they were married for more than 45 years. He survives and is of Chester.

Other survivors include daughter Dina Chandler of Chester; son David Holder of Chester; brother Ken (Patty) Lewis of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; sister Karen (Jesse) Crow of DeSoto; sister-in-law Patsy (Charles) Cremeens of Carbondale; two grandchildren, Lucas and Brooke Chandler; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Bonnie and Robert Chamness; sister-in-law Patti Elliot Lewis; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Delbert and Beulah Holder.

Cheryl was a loving homemaker who passionately took care of her family and others. She attended River of Life Ministries in Percy. Cheryl was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale with Pastor Ed Spiller officiating.

The preferred form of remembrance is memorials to a charity of the donor's choice.
