Lyle Dean Hagston, of Tamaroa

Lyle Dean Hagston, 76, of Tamaroa, was taken home to be with our Heavenly Father at 10:12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Lyle had worked as a supervisor at Technical Tape at Carbondale, Du Quoin Packing Company and the coal mines for 25 years at Captain Mine as a master electrician.

He was a member of the Tamaroa Christian Church, where he was a deacon and song leader. He and his wife, Sharon, were both baptized into Christ at the Tamaroa Christian Church. He had served on the Tamaroa Grade School Board for several years.

Lyle was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He will be greatly missed, but we're happy he's home with the Lord.

He was born Jan. 16, 1942 at Du Quoin, the son of Raymond and Ruby (Ross) Hagston.

He married Sharon Kay Tuthill on July 12, 1963 at the Tamaroa Christian Church and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, three children - Steven (Rhonda) Hagston of West Frankfort; Jarrod (Jennifer) Hagston of Tamaroa and Andra (Dr. Gary) Winters of Pinckneyville. Four sisters - Jean Kash of Du Quoin; Nancy Baltzel of Du Quoin; Judy (Chuck) Martie of Dowell and Marsha (Dan) Polley of Vero Beach, Fla.

Additional survivors include six grandchildren - Kandace Hagston, Krystle Hagston, Ashley (Josh) Wolfe, Shea (Terry) Campanella, Tyler (Heather) Hagston and Jacob Hagston; four lovely little great granddaughters of whom Lyle was so proud of - Brooklynn Hagston, Ryleigh Hagston, Tynslee Hagston, and Kaycee Hagston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a stillborn twin daughter - Alexia Kay Hagston, one brother - Raymond Hagston, and father-in-law and mother-in-law - Frank and Verna Tuthill.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Bro. Arven Kirkpatrick officiating.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the Tamaroa Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
