Harry Leonard Frier Sr., formerly of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG - Harry Leonard Frier Sr., 88, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, in River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville.

Harry was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Old Shawneetown to Richard and Maggie (Blair) Frier, who both preceded him in death.

On Aug. 15, 1948, he married Wanda Foster, and she survives.

Harry owned and operated Frier's Uptown Wrecker Service for 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, who served during the Korean War.

Harry was an elder at Land Street Church of God. He was very active and dedicated to his local church.

He dearly loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Frier of Evansville; two sons, Steven Frier and Greg Lutz of Newburgh, Indiana, and Harry L. Frier Jr. and wife Jennifer of Fairfield, Texas; two grandchildren, Brandon Frier and wife Elle of Dallas, Texas, and Rachel Frier of Waco, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with his nephew Samuel Barger officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
