RALEIGH -- William Taylor Jr., 84, passed away at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, in Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
William was born Aug. 12, 1933, to William and Ora Addie (Byrom) Taylor Sr.
He married Hilda Jane (Arflack) Taylor, and she preceded him in death in 1976. He later married Mary Margaret (Sinks) Taylor, and she preceded him in death in 2010.
William was a maintenance technician for Caterpillar and retired in 1989. He also was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Canimore and Sue Taylor; grandson, William Canimore (Bobbie Davis); stepdaughter, Sandy Leneave; two stepgrandchildren, Julie and Eddie Leneave; several great-stepgrandchildren; one great-great-stepgrandson, nine nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Eddie) Phillips and Betty Arflack; brother-in-law, Dale (Janice) Arflack; and three caregivers, Patty Blair, Lesley Wood and Crystal Lacrosse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; brother, George Logan Taylor; and two sisters, Anna Marie Taylor and Barbara Fast Bond.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with Roy Dale Orr officiating. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
