Wiley 'Bub' Andrew Mezo of Murphysboro

Wiley "Bub" Andrew Mezo, 54 of Murphysboro, formerly of Cahokia, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, in St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1962 to Cleveland Mezo and Phyllis Icenogle Jackson in Bloomington.

Wiley married Jacalyn Ficken of Cahokia on Feb. 4, 1994. They shared 23 years of marriage.

He owned and operated Mezo Trucking in Cahokia and Murphysboro.

Wily is survived by his wife, Jacalyn Mezo; his mother, Phyllis (Lloyd) Jackson; brothers, Clarence "Corky" Mezo; Edward "Mike" (Crystal) Serbantez; Harold "Shorty" Griffith; Edward "Gene" (Crissy) Mezo; and "DeWayne" Mezo; sisters, Lois (George) Davidson; Kathy Eck, Mary Mezo and Donna Mezo; a son, Jason (Hannah) Mezo; daughters, Jessica Sandford and Kristen (Jarrett) Clark; Wiley is guardian of three grandchildren, Sierra, Devin and Ian Snow; other grandchildren include, Adelynn, Talia and Boaz Mezo, Amiyah Thomas; Destiny Sanford; Ryan Franklin; Eleanor and Genevieve Clark; many nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; in-laws and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father; grandmother, Lelia Doty; two infant siblings and an unborn child.

A private burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A memorial service hosted by the family will be at a later date.
