Evelyn Gayla Clark of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG - Evelyn Gayla Clark, 68, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at her residence.

Gayla was born in Carbondale to the late Buel Wayne and Floy Evelyn (Faulkner) Hardin. She was a 1967 graduate of Pope County High School. She was a beautician for many years and later worked as a florist and also caregiver until her retirement in 2009.

She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met. She loved her family, home and flowers.

Gayla is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Dennis E. Clark; daughter, Kimberly S. Dunn and husband, Scott; sons, Gerrett Joiner and wife, Becky, Andy Clark, and Travis Clark and wife, Allison; grandchildren, Ryan Dunn, Cade Joiner, Kayli Joiner, Maci and Abby Clark, Gavin Clark, Gracie, Genna and Georgie Clark; brother, Larry Hardin and wife, Karen; niece, Rhonda Kaylor and husband, Lennie; nephew, Mike Hardin and wife, Gina; great-niece, Lyndsi Apple and husband, Austin; great-nephews, Dustin Gunning and Landon Hoh and Derek Hardin, great-niece Brittany Hardin; great-great-niece, Emmery Apple and Royce Apple; stepmother, Juanita Hardin; stepbrother Jerry Wells and wife, Zena; stepsister Karen Wright and husband, Charles; aunt, Joan Faulkner; several cousins and many, many friends.

Gayla was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate. Burial will follow in Pierson Cemetery.
