Virginia Ann Zimmerman of Sesser

Virginia Ann Zimmerman, 81, of Sesser passed away at 11:41 a.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Virginia was a homemaker. She had worked at Sesser Garment, Home Health Care, Ashley Candy Factory, Essex and Gold Plate. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Johnston City, the daughter of Cecil B. and Juanita (Roach) Harris.

She married Harold E. Zimmerman June 12, 1957, in Sunfield, and he survives.

She also is survived by two sons, Randy Horton and wife Crystal of Sunfield and Donald Earl Zimmerman and Julia Apke of Louisville; one sister, Clara Miller of Sesser; three brothers, Bill Harris and Tom Harris, both of Du Quoin, and Butch Harris of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Elmer Harris and John Harris.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
