John Clark of Thompsonville

THOMPSONVILLE - John Clark, 85, died at 1:46 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in Westside Care Center in West Frankfort.

He was born March 11, 1932, in Akin to Herman and Ina (Sweet) Clark. He married Patricia Good on July 8, 1951, and she survives.

Mr. Clark was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Benton VFW and an avid hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Clark of Thompsonville; sons, Mike Clark of Hayti, Missouri, and Roger Clark of Benton; brother, Clifford Clark of Decatur; sister, Ruth Flota of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth Clark (Ido Melamed), Brenden Clark, Christopher (Chelsea) Clark, Alex Clark and Stephanie (Loyall) Grantham; and three great-grandchildren, Cole, Cohen and Kati.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Clark; brothers, Lebron and Curtis Clark; and sister, Lucille Blackwell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Brother Mike Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic-Odd Fellow Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
