Deborah A. Hopkins of Du Quoin
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Deborah A. Hopkins, 65, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.<br /> Deborah had been the manager at Casey's North in Du Quoin. She had also been a cosmetologist and owned her own shop. She was of the Lutheran faith.<br /> She was born Sept. 8, 1951 in Du Quoin, the daughter of Sigman and Margaret (Groff) Decker.<br /> She married John Hopkins Dec. 30, 1977, in Pinckneyville, and he survives.<br /> She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin; one daughter, Amy McCollum of Du Quoin; one son, Michael Hopkins of Du Quoin; and two grandsons, Xander and Keegan McCollum.<br /> She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Decker.<br /> Per her request, cremation rites were conducted.<br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_741_851" tabindex="0">A Celebration of Life will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at St. Johns Village Hall in St. Johns.</span><br /> In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the family.
