Dorothy LaBotte Lupkey of Marion

MARION -- Dorothy LaBotte Lupkey, 89, passed away in the loving arms of Jesus at 10:24 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, in Herrin Hospital.

Dorothy was born May 7, 1928, in Marion, the daughter of Angus and Attla (Morse) Barger.

She married Cecil LaBotte, who preceded her in death. Dorothy later married Charles Lupkey, who preceded her in death on July 10, 2012.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She was very active in her church as a Sunday School teacher and in Bible School. Her church membership was in Tampa, Florida.

Survivors include her son, Ed LaBotte and wife Sherry of Marion; daughter, Anita Sigler of West Frankfort; five grandchildren, Kyle LaBotte and wife Leah of Johnston City, Kelly Dexter and husband Brad of Johnston City, Donnetta Jent and husband Robert of West Frankfort, Todd Sigler and wife Christina of Benton and Scott Sigler of Fairview Heights; six great-grandchildren; and stepson, Gary Lupkey and wife Debbie of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Cecil LaBotte; husband, Charles Lupkey; son-in-law, Don Sigler; two brothers, Troy and Leslie Barger; and sister, Mildred Barger.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 19, in Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Brad Dexter officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
