William Dean “Bill” Morrison of Champaign

<div class="PlainText">William Dean "Bill" Morrison, 70, of Champaign passed away April 18, 2017, at Carle Hospital.&#160; <br /> He was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Anna, the son of Mary Wilberta (Eastman) and William J. Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Rosalie (Stepzinski) Morrison. <br /> He was an active member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church for 20 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Navy from November 1970 to April 1974 as a PN2 during Vietnam before returning home to help his family. He ran a variety of restaurants in the Midwest including the Heritage House in Springfield for more than 10 years before transitioning to a career at the University of Illinois food service administrator/unit manager from 2000 to 2010, when he retired. In missing what he loved to do and working in the dining service field, he went back to work part time servicing the suites at the U of I football games and other sporting events, of which he was most proud. Most recently, he worked for Busey Bank in Champaign in his retirement. <br /> Bill was an avid card player, business man and sports enthusiast. He enjoyed boating and deep-sea fishing, being with his family and always made the best use of his sense of humor with anyone he met.&#160; <br /> Surviving are his daughter, Nichole (Scott) Summers of Champaign; children Scott Morrison of Florida and Kristin Morrison of Louisiana; two sisters, Debbie (Dan) Lashley of Florida and Dianne (Joe) Clay of North Carolina; and four brothers, Danny (Paula) Morrison of Florida, David (Charlotte) Morrison of Florida, Dennis (Sally) Morrison of Indiana, and Dale (Jeanne) of Virginia; two grandchildren, Natalie and Landon Summers.&#160; <br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1684_1806" tabindex="0">Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 23 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Dr. in Champaign.</span> Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, April 24 with Father Rayson officiating. Burial will be at Anna Cemetery in Anna.
