Frances Schmerbauch, formerly of Sikeston

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Frances L. Schmerbauch peacefully passed away at her home in Palm Springs Calif., on March 8, 2017 at the age of 86.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Frances was born on May 28, 1930 in Sikeston, Mo., where she attended school and spent her early years with her parents Laura and E.P. Ingram, her older sister Tessie Freeman and brother Lynn Ingram.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Frances married James Schmerbauch on January 20, 1949. The newlyweds moved to Sacramento, Calif., where they were long time residents and Frances worked for and retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a supervisor.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Together, they recently settled in Palm Springs to be closer to family.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Frances was a faithful member of the Sacramento Holy Spirit Catholic Church for 52 years and was enthusiastically involved with various church activities and craft hobbies.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Frances is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and close family friends in California, Missouri and Illinois.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">France's husband, Jim, preceded her in death on April 19, 2016 and earlier by her brother and sister.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Services were held on March 10 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Palm Springs, Calif. Internment is at Riverside National Cemetery, joined with her husband Jim.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Wiefels Cremations & Funeral Services were in charge of arrangements.</span>
