Eulene Heath

RIDGWAY – Eulene Heath, 89, gained her angel wings at 5:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, in Ridgway Manor, surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Shawneetown, the daughter of Carney Rash and Christina (Logsdon) Frailey.

Eulene was a graduate of Shawneetown High School and valedictorian of the class of 1946.

She married William Earl Heath on May 29, 1946. They had three children, Sandra Kay (Gene) Bond, William John (Kathy) Heath and David Earl Heath, all of Ridgway. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother “Mom Heath.”

Eulene was an employee of the state of Illinois, working in Eldorado for the Green Thumb Project from which she retired.

She always looked forward to her Friday night Bridge Club gatherings. She enjoyed making big Sunday dinners and pies for the family and then going and spending the afternoon with her mother and sisters.

Eulene was a loving “Mom Heath” to seven grandchildren, Ronny Lynn (Bond) Watkins of Breese, Katie Renee` (Tom) Martin and Travis Shain Heath of Eldorado, Christina Marie Heath of Harrisburg, James Earl David Heath and Amelia Faye Heath of Ridgway and Mariah Elizabeth (Seth) Dunn of Eldorado. She had nine great-grandchildren, Syria Dawn Durham of Breese, Andrew Heath Watkins of Trenton, Clayton Addison Lee Dennis and Gage Matthew Heath of Eldorado, Tessa Shai Heath of Harrisburg and Kaydence Marie and Madison Leigh Dunn and Trevor Ray and Trenton Lee Martin, all of Eldorado. She also had four siblings, Dorothy (William “Bill”) Drone of Effingham, Carney (Ruby) Rash Jr. of Eldorado, Clinton Wilburn (Marilyn) Rash of Griffith, Indiana, and Linda (George) O’Neill of Iven, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Earl; son, William John; two brothers, Junior and Clinton; two brothers-in-law, Bill Drone and George O’Neill; and nephew, Brian Edward Little.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway with the Rev. David Auxier officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
