HARRISBURG -- Julius T. Lumpkin, 74, died at 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, in Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Graveside services and burial will be at noon Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills with military rites by Carrier Mills American Legion, Harrisburg American Legion and Air Force Ritual Team. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
He was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Pittsburgh to Julius and Willa Mae (Jones) Lumpkin.He married the former Julie Anne Ivy, and she survives.
Julius was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War.
He worked for many years as a counselor at Vienna Correctional Center and, later on, at the Social Security Administration.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Lumpkin of Harrisburg; three daughters, Ylonda (Fredrick) Davis of Louisville, Kentucky, Ramona Lumpkin of Harrisburg and Kim Lumpkin of Louisville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Maureeshia Lumpkin, Jabrayle Lumpkin, Destiny George, Derek Watson, Jaxson Davis and Adriana Davis; two sisters, Betty Johnson and Cecilia Lloyd; and brother, Michael Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Derrick Lumpkin.
