HARRISBURG -- Helen J. Cook, 92, passed away Jan. 10, 2017, in Harrisburg.
She was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Eldorado to Ernest and Edith (Watson) Oglesby. On Sept. 18, 1942, she married Eddie Lee Cook, and they had been married for 42 years when he died in 1984 at the age of 63.
Helen retired from Harrisburg Bowen Center and also worked at Harrisburg IGA.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Cook of Harrisburg and Debbie (Alan) Bennett of Stonefort; granddaughter, Brandi Bennett (Travis Conley) of Harrisburg; five great-grandchildren, Kristin Wallace, Nathan Reeder, Brayden Williams, Courtney Conley and Austin Conley; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ellen McGowan and Carole Cruse; and brother, John Oglesby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Jack Oglesby; and three sisters, Ruby Garris, Pauline Kelsheimer and Hilda LaMont.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
