HARRISBURG -- Darrell V. Dunn, 75, passed away at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Saline County to Byford Dunn and Ruth (Bush) Stone, who preceded him in death. He married Marlene Randolph in June of 1963, and she survives.
Darrell worked for Inland Steel Mill in northern Indiana for six years and Consolidated Coal Company of Sesser for 32 years.
He was a member of First Church of God in Harrisburg, and he enjoyed motorcycle riding and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Dunn of Harrisburg; son, Tim Dunn and wife Samilla of northern Kentucky; grandson, Tyler Dunn of northern Kentucky; brother, Lee Dunn and wife Kim of Harrisburg; brothers-in-law, Rick Randolph and wife Debbie of Carrier Mills, Charles Moore and wife Norma of Carrier Mills and Tom Moore of Harrisburg; sister-in-law, Judy Randolph and family of Carrier Mills; special friend, Jenny Pearce; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, in Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Dan Masters officiating and the Rev. David Ducommon assisting him. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Church of God; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
